Description:
About Asante Amen BIOGRAPHY OF ASANTE AMEN: Every so often the Jamaican Reggae Music industry produces a personality that has the ability to captivate masses of people using the art form. Asante Amen is one such individual. As a singer and song writer Gavin Walters a.k.a Asante Amen is showing his readiness for the world stage with spiritually charged local performances, a growing catalogue of singles and a debut album near completion. His fan base both locally and internationally is also growing by the minute. Asante has had the privilege of performing on the same stage as acts such as Luciano, Damien Marley, Burning Spear, Ken Boothe and Tony Rebel among others. He has performed on prestigious platforms such as Rebel Salute (2006), Saint Mary Mi Come From (2007), Capleton’s annual birthday celebration and the Bob Marley Birthday Concert (2005 & 2007) as well as other successful events, staged both in Jamaica and the Caribbean. Yet Asante also performs for the grass-root masses, as this is where the fan base of any real artiste starts. However, no matter where he performs, he is always greeted with accolades and commendations about his presence and delivery on-stage. Asante presently has a music video entitled ‘More Fire’ which features Jah Thunder (of Capleton’s David House Crew) receiving steady airplay in Jamaica and parts of the United States, and Australia. He also has singles such as ‘Only Rastafari’, ‘Live Together’ (feat: Singing Vernon), ‘Never Get Away’ and more recently his brand new single entitled ‘Getting Enough’ receiving considerable airplay on radio stations across the world. As a result of this increased level of attention to his music, Asante sees where the stage is finally being set for his launch into the main stream of the Reggae Music Fraternity. As the proverbial saying goes ‘the sky is the limit’ and Asante has his eyes set on achieving the most he can out of music. Using the life and words of his Inspirator H.I.M Haile Selassie 1st as his guide, Asante believes that there is no height he cannot achieve: “If music is a healing force and a source of comfort and upliftment for people and I see myself as a Messenger for JAH, then I would have to play my part through music to heal the nation and the world at large”. If you want to contact Asante Amen Personally, email me at: asante.amen@gmail.com or call (1876) 406-9915 JAH is the Pilot of my ship...so he is my main influence.....however i was drawn to music from back in the day by ppl like, Chicago, UB40, Michael Jackson, Freddie Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey...to name a few. Reggae music came way way down in my life, mainly because of Garnet Silk. Garnett mi love and Honor the I always, cuz if it wasn't for you I doubt I would have become a Rasta. So Garnett is my main influence from a reggae point of view.....since then it has been great Ones like H.I.M Emperor Haile Selassie the first...King of KIngs, Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, African History and the main faiths of this world (Rastafrianism, Christianity, Judahism and Islam. So we give thanx to the DIVINE CREATOR AND SUSTAINER OF ALL THINGS - JAH ALMIGHTY. Sounds Like My main Inspiration is Garnett Silk, a great reggae Prophet who was mystically taken away almost 12 years ago. Other Reggae Messengers that keep me strong are Warriors like Jacob Miller, Peter Tosh, Bob Marley and Luciano. I have been told that i sound like David Hines of Steel Pulse, Garnett Silk, Jah mali and I have a serious Jacob Miller vibe going on....I think familiarity is good, although it can have its downside....What eva the case a Ras Tafari we a deal wid...........Hail the MOST HIGH- JAH RASTAFARI!!!!!!!!!!
