About Propa I go by the name Propa but my real name is Jamel Thomas. I was born in Jacksonville, Florida but raised in New Orleans and Bermuda. I been rapping for the past 8 years and singing all my life. I first got into rapping when the Hot Boyz first CD came out in the late 90s. I was doing freestyle battles making money off that and after got into song writing and just kept perfecting my craft. And after a while I started ghostwriting for a few artists (singers & rappers). My musical influences are Jay-Z, Lupe Fiasco, Nas, Cash Money, Ludacris, Run-DMC, R. Kelly, Ne-Yo, Mario, Sean Garrett, Micheal Jackson, Akon. T-Pain, Chris Brown, 50 Cent and Eminem. I have opened for Mario, Mavado, Good Friday @ Horseshoe Bay, Hamilton Princess Fashion Show, Peace in The Street (mini tour around Bermuda), Beachfest and Chewstick located at Spinning Wheel. I put my all in my music and love writing songs that make you think you're on a journey through my words. But also I can make that music for the clubs and streets, so just say I'm diverse.
