Patrick Okogwu (born 7 November 1988) better known by his stage name Tinie Tempah, is an English rapper from Plumstead, South London. His debut album, Disc-Overy, debuted at number-one on 10 October 2010 and was preceded by the number-one singles "Pass Out" and "Written in the Stars" and the top-five singles "Frisky" and "Miami 2 Ibiza"./nTinie Tempah's birth name is Patrik Chukwuem Okogwu Jr. He is of Nigerian heritage. He attended St. Paul's R.C. Secondary School in Plumstead, London (now known as St. Paul's Academy) and left with 10 GCSEs. He then attended Saint Francis Xavier Sixth Form College in South London, leaving with 3 A-levels./nHis first music for promotional single "Wifey", produced by Flukes from the production duo Crazy Cousins, became an underground hit holding the Channel U Urban Chart top spot for 10 consecutive weeks in 2006. He released his LP, Disc-Overy on 4 October 2010, which includes the hit singles "Pass Out", "Frisky", "Written in the Stars" and "Miami 2 Ibiza"./nHe announced his signing to Parlophone by running a competition on his blog, with the winner invited to High Tea at Claridges to celebrate the deal. He toured with Chipmunk in February 2010. According to MTV, Patrick's major label debut album, titled Disc-Overy (pronounced discovery), was due for release in August 2010. Tinie then announced his second single, "Frisky", which was released on 6 June 2010. Tinie performed at Radio 1 Big Weekend in Bangor on 22 May 2010 on the In New Music We Trust stage and informed the crowd his album would be out in August 2010. He also toured with Mr Hudson in May 2010.
Tinie supported Rihanna for four dates (Nottingham on 14 May, Glasgow on 19 and 20 May. London on 11 May) on her 10-date UK tour with Tinchy Stryder and Pixie Lott. On 28 May 2010, Tinie performed at summer balls at The University of Chester, The University of Winchester, London Metropolitan University, Hertfordshire University and Bangor University on 29 May as well as The University of Kent on 5 June, Nottingham Trent University on 15 June and Imperial College London on 19 June. He also performed at the May Ball of Clare College, Cambridge and College of St Hild and St Bede, Durham University.
Tinie Tempah played the Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium on 6 June 2010, at Wakestock in Abersoch on 3 July, both T4 On The Beach and the Wireless Festival in London's Hyde Park on 4 July, and both days of the V Festival on 21 and 22 August 2010.
"Written in the Stars" is the third single from Disc-Overy, the debut album, and was released on 27 September 2010 where it topped the charts on 3 October 2010; the day before his album release./n
