Kingston, Jamaica, born and raised Bambino moved on to Florida quite early on in his career.
This move may have been what put him on the road he is travelling now.
While attending college in the U.S – he gigged on the circuit and made a name for himself.
But, as they say, home is where the heart is – and Bambino’s heart is firmly in Jamaica, whilst his mind  is shared equally between the U.S. and the
Caribbean.
Definately one of the funniest men around, DJ Bambino aka Trever Off-Key has got it sewn up  in the parody department.
But not only has he won that hands down,  he can also list Radio DJ, Actor, Producer, Comedian among many, many others on his CV.
Trever Off-Key aka Orrett Hart Jr (his given name) has parodied some of the greats Vybz Kartel, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, T-Pain, Drake...  and trust
me – the videos are as funny as the lyrics from start to finish.
Eraseable’s hilarious start “ey gyal, ‘ow yuh ah tell bad man bout to the left... Move... To the right, To the right... “ (Beyonce – Irreplaceable)
Fake Jean’s “Fake jeans, admit it, knock off t-shirts we did it, we rock wanna be Clarkes to the limit...” (Vybz Kartel – Straight Jeans & Fitted)
Miss My Cooking’s “.... ah lie, after all the chicken wheh mi fry and di goat wheh mi buy...”  (Drake – Find Your Love)
Bust My Window’s “....I shoulda known she was a psycho... it’s a good thing, I was insured with Gieco..” (Jazmine Sullivan – Bust Your Windows)
And so many more, I haven’t mentioned...
There is no doubt that Trever Off-Key is down right hilarious!
Bambino came up with the alias of Trever Off-Key, as he didn’t want other sound men/DJs to know it was his track – as there was every possibility
that it wouldn’t get played.
It gives him an alter-ego much like ‘Beyonce’ and ‘Sasha Fierce’ – Allowing Trever to get away with things that DJ Bambino can’t.
If ya don’t know, get to know!  Check him out!  This man is talented beyond talented!
Although, he doesn’t see himself as a comedian, but more as a clown and a joker.
But, being a joker and a clown doesn’t make him a fool! As the saying goes, “ A wise man can play a fool;  A fool can’t play a wise man”  - And it is
with his wisdom that he has managed to work with Beenie Man, Lady Saw, Kevin Lyttle, Macka Diamond, Alison Hinds, Elephant Man – as well as
producing videos, forming Spine Records and heading the Gambino  Sound Family.
So there we have it, wise, funny, sexy, handsome, talented and down – to – earth.   Let’s keep an orderly queue ladies!!
See Interview Below
First of all – do we call you Trever (Jamaican twang) or Trevor (Cockney twang)?
TrevER cause people wanna know who we are... just trying to be different
Can we ask your real name?
Orrett Hart Jr
Tell me a bit about your life and family life growing up.
I had a great childhood, lots of fun.  I have three brothers and we always found ways to keep occupied... whether it was in a good way or bad way... well, our
parents let us know after our mischief was made.  I’m glad I took advantage of my time then because now, it’s all about work, work, work.  I try to keep a good
balance with family though.
How did you get started in the industry?
When I left Jamaica for college in Tampa, my brother Jason introduced me to my first turntable and the rest, as they say, is history.
Can you share with us a bit about how you became a DJ in Tampa?
I started playing at local gigs and college parties, and soon thereafter we (Ricochet sound at that time) began getting bigger bookings until eventually we were a
known name in the industry.
What made you decide to head back home?
I always wanted to come back home but not knowing what was in store for my career was very scary.  I knew that whenever the time came, I would want my
children to grow up here in Jamaica and so when my son was born, it was good motivation to finally make the move.
You have many alter-egos – DJ Bambino, Trever etc.  Can you tell us why the different characters / which is your favourite and why?
Well, Trever is Bambino’s alter ego.  Whatever he does, or whoever he becomes all depends on what the vibe is at any given time.  Trever really came about
because I wanted to release spoofs/songs and it was possible that other selectors wouldn’t play “Bambinos song” but maybe they would play it if it didn’t have
that affiliation.  I don’t really have a favourite.  Bambino is the DJ, producer, MC, overall entertainer and more serious character (at times) whereas Trever just
comes out whenever he feels like and starts with the spoofs and foolishness, so I just work with it.
How did you get into comedy?
Comedy? Hahahaha – I don’t think of myself as a comedian.  I’m naturally a clown.  I used to get in trouble all the time in school and was always the class
clown.  It just comes naturally to me... I like to make people laugh even if I’m the brunt of the joke.
Most comedians have another side to them that people don’t know about – would you care to share yours?
I’d like to say that what you see is what you get... which is true to an extent.  But there are times when I’m dead tired and still have to wake up early to do my
morning show, and I’m hungry and miserable, but when I step into that studio I know that people listening are depending on me to make THEIR day better so I
just do what I need to do and try to put a smile on their face.  And when I do that, it also makes ME feel better.  I am only human though, so I do have my
moments just like anybody else
Have you always been someone that likes to give jokes to people; from a younger age or is that a new thing?
As I said before, I’ve been a “clown” for as long as I can remember.  In school, at home, on the microphone... ALWAYS.
Can you share any pranks you may have gotten up to at school?
Pranks, no man... I used to just give jokes and get reprimanded for excessive talking and tomfoolery.
Tell us about ‘Da Boomshack’
Da Boomshack was an entertainment TV show that was the brainchild of Colin Williams (the producer) and myself.  This was at a time when those types of
shows were very few and far between.  We just thought that for such a largely populated Caribbean area it would be great for a Caribbean entertainment show
to air so we started going to different events and shows and started filming and eventually got it aired on a public access station.  It wasn’t a profit making
venture at all but it really was a great quality show.
How did you come up with the twists on the tracks that you parody?
I try to think of the most farfetched thing that nobody would even think about and I do it.  Sometimes I don’t even think about it, I’ll just be driving or doing my
own thing and listening to a song and it will hit me.
Do you ever get any resentment from the artists of the original songs or do they usually enjoy them too and see the funny side?
No, not at all.  They usually laugh along and tell me how much sense I DON’T have.
You have your fingers in many pies – producing / acting / DJ / Comedian – which do you enjoy more? And are there any that you would prefer not to do?
I can’t say that there’s any I prefer.  Of course DJ-ing and producing are what I do most but I like all aspects of my career.
‘Ladies Night’ – Tell us a bit about how you came to be in the movie and a little about filming it.  Did you enjoy it?
Juan, the producer of the movie, approached me out of the blue and told me that I was the perfect person for a movie he was doing.  It was fun and different
from what I was accustomed to and it was really a great experience and I learned alot.
Any plans to do more movies?
Not in the pipelines right now but I’m definitely open to it should an opportunity present itself.
Can you tell us about ‘Gambino Sound Family’?
As my name was growing in FL, I found that I was getting more bookings than I could handle and so I hand-picked a couple other DJ’s that I thought had talent
and who I saw myself as a DJ in – the way they thought about music, the way they mixed, the way they could remix a song... and started Gambino Sound Family.
Tell us about Erasable (Beyonce)
counteract from a mans point of view,
 Fake Jeans (Kartel)
real song cause alot of ppl DO wear them so you wanted to make those clothes cool
and Miss My Cooking (Drake)
love food
I love those parodies – too, too funny!  You must have fun writing the lyrics and making the videos....
It is ALOT of fun.  When the lyrics come to my head I have to laugh sometimes before I can even say them!!  The people on my creative team are also missing a
screw or two so it’s hilarious when we start talking about video ideas etc...  Those parodies you mentioned – Eraseable: I just wanted to counteract her song
from a man’s perspective.  Fake Jeans – I just thought that its true!!  ALOT of people wear fake brand names and I wanted to make that something that they
could be proud about.  Fake clothes are COOL!!!  Miss My Cooking – hahahahaha, I don’t think I have an excuse for this one, I just love food!
Do you feel more at home in America or in Jamaica?
Most definitely in Jamaica.  It’s my home.  The food, the music, the way of life.... even struggling in Jamaica is better than struggling abroad – there’s always
something you can hustle and do to make ends meet.  And if all else fails and hungry knocking at the door... pick a water coconut, or some mango, or banana
and eat it.
What inspires you to do what you do?
I just love to entertain people and at the end of the day that’s what it’s about.  I love to see people enjoying themselves and knowing that I’m the one making
them forget their troubles even if it’s only for a short time.  AND I have a family to feed!!!!!
What’s next for Bambino?
I know it sounds cliché, but the sky really is the limit – I want to keep on the same trend that I am now but better
What’s next for Trever Off-Key?
I’m looking for Trever to release an album or parodies as well as an album of original tracks.
If you were allowed 5 items (not music) to take on a desert Island – what would they be?
Not music???  Hmmmmmmm - I’d rather not go to that island, thanks.
What 5 songs would you bring?
500 miles by the Proclaimers;  More Than Words by Extreme; any Bob Marley song... I’d just dip my hand in a bucket and take whichever song comes out;
Silhouette by Dennis Brown; Lovely Day by Bill Withers
Parody Galore..... Trever Off-Key
