The man with one of the smoothest voices in show business; graced me
with an interview recently and almost turned me into a blundering fool –
when at the drop of a pin, he effortlessly dropped a line, dropped a
note, dropped a whole song (well almost).
The man who was the first reggae artist to record a song in japanese.
The man that gave us Say What, Shower Me With Your Love, Let It
Flow, Back For Good and Pretty Brown Eyes – to name very few... gave
Lady D an up close and personal hour of his time.
In a no holds barred conversation; I felt elated to find this man very
down-to-earth, very forthcoming and very humble and somewhat critical
of himself.
He shared stories of his beginnings, his experiences and his life! All of
which I promise you, you will thoroughly enjoy.
He has worked with too many artist over the years to name all of them,
but we can definitely include Beres Hammond, Tony Rebel, Tony Curtis,
Trilla U into the equation.
Born Everton Hardweare; Singing Melody has been in the business over
20 years – and is involved in many, many projects with the younger stars
– that love to work with a man with that has so much experience.
On top of this he also is the foundation member of the group L.U.S.T
(other members are Lukie D, Trilla U & Tony Curtis) – the group have won
song of the year at the 2008 EME awards for ‘Just As I Am’.
Alongside these – Singing Melody still manages to run a label called
S.H.E.M Music – which produces music al work with Morgan Heritage,
Turbulence & Richie Stephens.
Singing Melody has travelled far and wide and is recognised and
appreciated the world over. Aptly named ‘Melody’ for he truly is melodic
and smooth as silk.
He is loved by many no matter what generation, background or genre.
If you have yet to hear of Singing Melody – where the heck have you
been? Tune in and stay tuned!!
