The big, big man; from the small town – and what a presence he has.
Speaking to Big Kuntry Mane was fun – although it was no easy task for either of us.
Me, with my deep South London accent and him with his North Carolina, deep south
accent (at least we both had the ‘south’ in common).
Kuntry Mane is a talented man who is serious about where he wants to be in life and how
he is going to get there.
He puts in the hours and is confident that he will be rewarded for that time.
Our interview – conducted at 8.30 in the morning for the big man and somewhat later in
the afternoon for me – was an insightful event into the world of Kuntry Mane – for
instance – I thought his name was country mane, as in horse – Big Kuntry , however
informed me that his name is in fact Big Kuntry Man! It’s all in the pronunciation – In
North Carolina, they don’t say man; but mane – and there we have the name.
Born and raised in Oxford North Carolina; a town once described as “one of the prettiest
towns in all the country” – CJ Rogers, or as we know him Big Kuntry Mane is a rapper, a
model and loves football. His favourite colour being North Carolina Blue.
He says “I want [my fans] to know the real side of my music, not the computer generated overcast that some artists offer
to their fans”. And because of this he makes the extra effort to reach out to his fans using his websites and
performances.
His album Kuntry Tyme tells a story of growing up in his beloved hometown in the south and follows on with his life style,
coming up and consequences, positives and lessons learnt.
This talented man knows his stuff, he reaches out and connects and knows what is required of him.
He raps with a crazy flow on any given beat – ladies, he looks hot – with a torso, hard to compare to any other – he
makes almost any clothing look good when he models!
Big him up, roll out the carpet; seeing – or in this case, seeing AND hearing IS believing – This man is about to blow tread
the earth and Blow Up!!!
Allow yourself to be able to say, I was there – I was a part of that!!
