Danny-John Jules - A TV favourite, in fact a T.V. idol in many countries the world over.
He’s a great, talented, down-to-earth actor, musician, director & dancer – who also dabbles in music production.
He has graced TV screens for years in many projects, but is perhaps most iconic for playing the cat in Red Dwarf alongside Craig Charles,
Chris Barrie and Robert Llewellyn.
Other famous projects of his are Maid Marian and her Merry Men & of course Cbeebies’ Story Makers.
But the talent doesn’t end there.
He sings & dances too and has enthralled many a theatre goer with his scene grabbing stage performances in the west-end.
Prior to this interview, I felt nervous and in awe; I mean we are talking the coolest dude on TV to date – ‘The Cat’.
By the time the interview was over. I found I had gained a friend, plus massive credibility from my kids who were ecstatic when they
discovered “Imagine, Imagine, Imagine a story” was on the phone.
Yes Danny John-Jules has given us hours of enjoyment playing the cat in red dwarf, but let us not forget that this man’s portfolio is vast,
including, but not limited to - Starlight express, M.I. High, Labyrinth, Guy Ritchie’s Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels (playing Barfly Jack –
the man that tells the story of Vas Blackwood’s character {the one with the afro} setting the other guy alight), Blade II, A dancer in Wham’s
‘Edge of Heaven’ Music Video (he gets up on stage and dances with George – {See it here} 3 minutes and 12 seconds in) and of course ‘Sucker
Punch’ – of which his protégé Lavinia is on the soundtrack.
At the time of going to press – Danny is in out of the country filming for a new project with the BBC.
These are by no means all of Danny’s conquests – but they just go to show what a variety of characters this man is capable of giving.Danny
John-Jules – we love you and we salute you!!
